The Project Management Engineer role is an excellent opportunity for an engineering professional to manage injection moulding projects from concept through to production. This role involves close collaboration with design, tooling, quality, production and supplier teams to ensure successful project delivery within regulated manufacturing environments.
Responsibilities
Manage and coordinate injection moulding projects from concept through to production
Liaise with cross-functional teams including design, tooling, quality and production to ensure project success
Evaluate and approve mould designs and modifications in collaboration with toolmakers and suppliers
Provide technical support during mould trials, troubleshoot moulding issues and implement corrective actions
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets and status reports
Ensure projects comply with safety, quality and regulatory standards
Drive continuous improvement in moulding processes and tooling performance, including participation in DFMEA, PFMEA and validation documentation for new tool launches
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field
3 to 5 years of experience in project engineering, specifically in injection moulding
Strong understanding of mould design, plastic materials and injection moulding processes
Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD, as well as project management tools
Knowledge of scientific moulding principles and process validation, including IQ, OQ and PQ
Experience in medical device, automotive or high-precision plastic components
Experience with ISO 13485, IATF 16949 or other regulated environments
