A leading global semiconductor organization focused on advanced computing and AI-driven solutions is seeking a Staff Hardware Test Engineer to drive ATE hardware development for next-generation power and AI semiconductor products. This role is instrumental in ensuring robust and scalable backend test solutions that support high-performance applications such as data centers, accelerators, and advanced computing systems. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver high-quality, cost-efficient test hardware solutions from development through high-volume manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
Lead end-to-end development of ATE hardware solutions (load boards, probe cards, sockets, change kits) from concept definition, RFQ, design reviews, to NPI and production release.
Act as the primary interface with ATE hardware vendors, managing technical alignment, commercial negotiations, and operational execution.
Manage and track ATE hardware budget, ensuring cost control and optimization.
Oversee systems and tools for hardware request management, inventory tracking, and lifecycle monitoring.
Identify and drive gross margin improvement initiatives related to test hardware optimization and cost reduction.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain) to align on demand forecasts and ensure timely hardware readiness for NPI and production.
Provide technical leadership in module testing, including sockets, boards, and handler interfacing, ensuring robust and scalable production solutions.
Support capacity planning and readiness to meet production and revenue targets.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
7–12 years of experience in semiconductor ATE hardware development (load boards, probe cards, sockets, change kits).
Strong experience in power semiconductor or module hardware design and layout.
In-depth understanding of ATE systems, handlers, and module test interfaces.
Proven ability to translate technical requirements into executable plans and drive cross-functional alignment.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including cost modelling, forecasting, and scenario analysis.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging vendors and senior leadership.
Ability to work effectively in a global, matrixed organization across multiple regions.
