JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

To manage all aspects of the sugar agricultural production to achieve the agreed targets for the cane production, cane quality and all agricultural costs.

To prepare strategic plans for operating and capital budgets.

To ensure the timely purchase of plant, equipment and materials required to achieve the cane production and delivery targets

Identify key technical sugar agronomic constraints and agree on the priority activities and annual work programs for the agriculture department

Liaise with the workshop department to ensure timely, efficient and cost-effective servicing, repair and maintenance of equipment

Develop and monitor standard operating procedures, plans and strategies to minimize damage such as soil erosion and pollution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS

Degree in Agriculture, Agronomy or Agricultural Engineering, preferably with Post Graduate management training

At least 15 years’ experience in large scale Estate Agriculture, of which at least 5 years in sugar cane.

Work location is in Papua New Guinea.
