Our client is an established engineering solution provider supporting the power generation and energy industry. The company provides engineering, technical support, maintenance, outage and plant improvement solutions for power generation facilities.
They are currently looking for a Technical Support Engineer - Control & Instrumentation (C&I) to strengthen their Power Engineering facilities
Job Responsibilities: -
Provide technical and engineering support for Control & Instrumentation (C&I) systems used in power generation facilities
Troubleshoot plant instrumentation and control-related issues, including transmitters, sensors, control valves, actuators and protection systems
Perform signal tracing, loop checking, logic verification, calibration checks, system testing and commissioning
Analyze plant alarms, operating trends and field data to identify technical issues and recommend corrective actions
Review technical documents such as P&IDs, functional logic diagrams, wiring diagrams, control schematics and instrument datasheets
Coordinate with regional and overseas engineering teams on technical troubleshooting and engineering solutions
Support technical proposals, specifications and project scopes for maintenance, outage, upgrade and modernization projects
Provide engineering input for control system upgrades, instrumentation replacement and plant optimization initiatives
Participate in site execution during plant outages, overhauls, maintenance and commissioning activities
Support plant starts up and operational performance verification following maintenance or upgrading works
Prepare technical and service reports upon completion of site activities
Coordinate with vendors, subcontractors and internal teams to ensure technical, quality and safety requirements are met
Review technical specifications, RFQs and supplier proposals and provide technical input for procurement activities
Job Requirements:-
Bachelor Degree in Electrical, Electronic Instrumentation, Control, Mechatronics Engineering or a related engineering discipline
Approximately 3-5 years of relevant experience in power plant C&I engineering, maintenance, commissioning or field service
Good understanding of power plant control and instrumentation systems
Familiarity with turbine control systems, balance of plant controls and related electrical interfaces would be advantageous
Hands on experience in troubleshooting, loop checking, logic testing, calibration and commissioning is highly preferred.
Able to interpret P&ID, control logic, wiring diagrams and other engineering documentation
Good communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
Proactive, hand son and comfortable working in a site environment
Able to work effectively under tight schedules, particularly during plant shutdowns or outage periods
Willing to travel within Malaysia and overseas for project/site assignments, which may last up to 2-3 months per assignments
