SUMMARY
  • Assume overall leadership role in the day to day running of the effluent treatment systems and associated power generation facilities 
  • The job exists to ensure the continued and efficient running of two biogas power generation installations which save the company money by replacing the use of diesel where possible at the oil refinery and general infrastructure 
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Ensure that each effluent treatment system is operated effectively and economically in line with the agreed operational and capital budgets
  • Co-ordinate biogas power generation activities, ensuring that supply to users is properly controlled
  • Ensure that the information required to effectively manage the operations is collected and assembled in the required format and ensure that corrective action is taken in a timely manner if targets are not being met
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained in operational condition in a timely and economical manner
  • Ensure that all equipment is operated safely and in accordance with the operational guidelines associated with that equipment
  • Ensure that the effluent treatment systems and surrounding areas are maintained to an acceptable standard of cleanliness and neatness
  • Ensure that all employees conduct themselves within the letter and spirit of the company regulations and take immediate disciplinary action when the regulations are transgressed
  • Ensure worker safety is optimised; ensure compliance with the New Britain Palm Oil Limited Occupational Health and Safety Policy
  • Ensure that the impact of the operation of the effluent treatment systems on the environment is minimised
  • Ensure good co-ordination and effective communication between the effluent treatment system operations and all related parties
  • Assist in the preparation of the annual capital and operations budgets for the Engineering Department
REQUIREMENTS
  • Tertiary qualification in engineering field.  Mechanical, electrical or related
  • 5 years practical experience in electricity production or related mechanical engineering
  • Excellent problem solving abilities
  • Knowledge of electronic control systems
  • Experience with stationary combustion engine repair and maintenance
  • Administrative experience including budgeting, reporting, record keeping. (excel, word, SAP), staff training, project planning and coordination
  • Occupational Health and Safety knowledge/ experience
