JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To assist in establishing and maintaining a robust and effective compliance framework for the Company 
  • Draft, review and vet any agreements, letters and documents related to legal matters 
  • Provide legal advisory services to the Management and internal departments 
  • Regularly audit company procedures, practices, and documents to identify possible weaknesses or risk 
  • Plan, coordinate, perform and document compliance risk assessments in defined legal areas 
  • To assist in implementing and managing an effective legal compliance program 
  • Perform various general administrative duties (such as file creation, maintenance of document/data, maintenance of ongoing administrative projects) 
  • Collaborate with other divisions or departments to deal with relevant government departments for any inquiry or compliance (e.g. MPK, Customs, LHDN, Immigration) 
  • Keep up to date with, and understand, relevant laws and regulations 
  • Attend and resolve any legal concerns and issues that may arise from time to time 
  • Ensure proper execution of all the legal and corporate secretarial documents 
  • Assess company operations to determine compliance risk 
  • To assist in developing systematic methods and programs at company level for improving legal and compliance in all necessary areas pursuant to the overall corporate compliance framework, compliance programs and policies 
  • To assist in providing training to all employees on the latest laws, rules, regulations and processes 
  • Initiate, coordinate, conduct and manage internal Investigation on irregularities and non-compliance issues on an independent and confidential basis 
  • Collaborate with internal and external auditors when needed 
  • Address employee concerns or questions on legal compliance 
  • Perform any other tasks as and when required by HOD from time to time

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree in Law or any related field 
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in practicing 
  • Preferably someone who has experience working as in-house legal
