JOB SCOPE:
Piping Engineer should be responsible to conduct piping design work independently including pipe support for Oil & Gas, Petrochemical field project through both of Estimation and Execution stage by planning and arrangement of manpower, management and control of schedule for Engineering Works.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Routine work in the office
Review and study of technical requirement for the project and provide assessment report to HOD / Team Leader.
Preparation and control of Engineering Schedule and Document List.
To control and issue MR list for piping work in project execution. Management for engineering subcontractor (Instruction / Control / Supervision / Assessment).
Management for CAD operator. (Instruction / Control / Supervision).
Preparation of the specification and datasheet for piping material and valve, other accessory for piping and other Engineering Works.
To Plan, Conduct and Summarize MTO (Material Take off) for Piping Material.
Preparation and control of Material Requisition.
Review and Evaluation of Vendor’s Proposal technically.
Preparing of Clarification sheet to Owner and Vendor.
Conduct Bid Evaluation of Vendor’s Quotation.
To coordinate, lead and control interface between internal engineering groups (Mechanical / Electrical & Instrument / Civil) and
others (consultant, supplier, customer and relevant authority).
Review and checking the drawing / documents issued by Subcontractor and CAD operator.
Preparation of proposal document for consideration.
Proposal and negotiation with customers.
Compile information, study and report any change and variation to HOD / Team Leader while proposing best solutions.
To control vender output including the schedule of the submission & the delivery and the quality of the drawings & the actual equipment.
Required Character and Capability (Experience and Skill)
To keep his/her eyes open for situation and progress of surrounding work and take lead role in any matters.
To always take initiative at design work for adjustment amongst other groups.
To ensure relevant information is shared and delegated timely within Engineering Team and set the priority and timeline for engineering work.
To make appropriate decision make unerring judgments.
To review engineering document delicately and ensure accuracy of Engineering Work.
To make sure familiar with Code & Standards (ASME / BS / API) and Malaysian regulation for piping.
To have wealth of knowledge of material property, piping material and component.
To have experience of piping design by using CAD software by own self.
To have understanding of P&ID and share knowledge with junior Engineers.
To know consideration of piping arrangement.
To have Know-how of check point for piping arrangement in the drawing that subcontractor / others planned.
To have drafting technic and knowledge and knowledge of Piping stress analysis.
To have solving skills for the failed result of piping stress analysis.
Possess basic knowledge of site activities, practices and procedures in the construction field and materials.
Good communication skills, problem-solving skills, and multitasking skills with keen attention to detail.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION:
Possess a Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
At least 5 years related working experience in related field.
Computer literate especially in Microsoft Offices and AutoCAD.
Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English.
Positive attitude, able to coordinate and work as a team.
Willing to travel and to be based at a project / construction site.
