A US based equipment manufacturing company is looking for Strategic Sourcing Manager to drive impactful sourcing strategies that shape supplier ecosystems, strengthen operational performance, and deliver sustainable business value

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and develop deep market insight for assigned commodities, such as Electronics & Electrical or Mechanical categories, including industry trends, cost drivers, global pricing, lead times, technology, and supplier manufacturing capabilities that best support business expectations and objectives.

  • Create, execute, maintain, and continuously improve commodity strategies for assigned categories, ensuring current and future alignment with technology requirements while achieving objectives related to total cost, lead time, capacity, inventory management, risk mitigation, and overall supply chain effectiveness.

  • Apply strong expertise in requirements planning, supplier rationalization, supplier and supply chain development, dual sourcing, risk management, and supplier financial assessment

  • Lead cross-business unit and cross-functional teams to develop and execute commodity strategies, continuous improvement initiatives, and supply projects by effectively facilitating medium-sized groups, designing and managing working sessions, and engaging management as needed.

  • Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, by actively listening and consistently conveying expectations, requirements, and issues to suppliers, stakeholders, business units, and the supply chain organization. Communicate with both middle and senior management with clarity and confidence.

  • Anticipate, identify, analyze, and resolve complex supply chain issues while engaging colleagues, management, and stakeholders as appropriate.

  • Manage supplier relationships and performance to meet company expectations and objectives, including handling highly complex supplier relationships and performance challenges.

  • Negotiate best-in-class pricing, quality, delivery, payment terms, and customer service requirements that align with business objectives.

  • Negotiate agreements and contracts that establish a clear framework for the client-supplier business model, support business relationship needs, manage supply risk, and achieve business objectives. Draft and negotiate contracts as required for the purchase of goods and services

  • Lead, coordinate, and support on-site supplier visits, assessments, audits, and continuous improvement opportunities to reduce total cost and address supplier performance issues.

  • Support corporate goals related to quality, cost, customer service, and inventory management. Understand, introduce, and lead best-practice supply chain and sourcing approaches within the group.

  • Support and provide leadership in creating and executing the client’s vision for its supply chain organization.

 

Requirement

  • Bachelor's degree in Business; preferably Supply Chain or a related field. MBA  is a plus.

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in purchasing with 3 to 5 years of experience in supply chain / strategic sourcing 

  • Complete knowledge of all aspects of purchasing including but not limited to: Source selection, price / cost analysis, negotiation, purchase justification and documentation

  • Must be highly detailed and able to work multiple tasks independently with little direct supervision in a fast-paced environment

  • Electro-mechanical experience is a plus

  • Experience in the vacuum and semi-conductor market place is desired
