JOB DESCRIPTIONS
  • Delivers the site safety improvement initiatives to achieve zero injuries/accidents, sustained improvement in all production areas, and meeting all internal and external safety standards.
  • Ensures a safe operating environment for cylinder filling, testing, handling and plant operations
  • Proactively works in partnership with local production management to identify gaps, implement Taylor improvement programmes, including adjustment where appropriate, share best safety practices
  • Conducts monthly meetings with safety manager, production engineers and production supervisors to review risk, hazard, gaps and come out with sustainable remedial/improvement actions.
  • Communicates with other functional teams and safety team at local level to share best practices and resources.
  • Ensures all people in production areas are trained and qualified for their positions.
  • Production strategies implementation
  • Implements production strategies on sites to ensure the business delivers the product service offer (PSO)
  • Sets production targets in consultation with business manager.
  • Works with local production management team and business managers to assess desired against actual PSO and develop detailed improvement plan; and anticipate market needs and receive feedback on production’s performance.
  • Holds regular meetings with other platforms both local and regional level (distribution, CSC, Supply chain) to ensure delivery of PSO
  • Implementation of cost improvement programmes.
  • Identifying, prioritising, and implementing productivity and cost optimization in all areas of production.
  • Works with Business Manager and Head of Sales, PGP to identify cost improvement opportunities and provides inputs on the strategy.
  • Works with supervisors to ensure proper implementation of plan.
  • Communicates regularly and receive feedback from other related departments as well as brainstorm solutions at local level and input to production management platform team.
  • Works closely with enabling functions such as HR, SHEQ, IM and Finance for support in delivering productivity targets
  • Implementation of financial plan.
  • Provides input to Business Manager in setting the annual budget
  • Ensures production team achieve their targets within the budget.
  • Functional leadership
  • To manage site production team and set annual objectives for members.
  • Influencing & mentoring
  • Actively influences and coach’s local production team to ensure they clearly understand their specific roles in overall production and operations strategies and how their functions are related to other functions in the operations group, as well as other business units.
  • Change management leadership
  • Leads significant change initiatives to improve production efficiency, support and cascade BOP initiatives on production to sites.
  • Risk management
  • Carries out adequate risk assessment for production activities.
  • Carries out plan to ensure all production activities meet Linde safety, quality and environmental standards and national legislative requirements.
  • Competency development
  • Ensures placement of competent employees on the production site.
  • Determine capability gaps within the production organisation and develop processes to fill the gaps.
  • Succession planning in production management team.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Degree in Engineering
  • 4-7 years’ related experience, with several years in production management functions. 
  • Demonstrated change management capability
  • Understanding of business development concepts
  • Operations capability – good grasp of and ability to apply production management, supply chain and distribution concepts and techniques.
  • Good understanding of and ability to apply safety concepts.
  • Capability development (including coaching and mentoring).
  • People & Project management
  • Leadership capabilities.
  • Demonstrated engineering capability.
  • Understanding of business development concepts.
