JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Business Nature: Manufacturing of injection moulding (MNC)
  • Location: Kulai, Johor (5 days/week)
  • Tooling design and concept reviews with mold maker
  • Prepare product and mold Design for Manufacturing (DFM) to customer and mold maker. Influence product design change to ensure manufacturability in our process
  • Collaborate with mold maker, process engineer and tooling maintenance personnel to provide product recommendation and tooling improvement solutions
  • Conduct DFM review with mold maker and process engineer before cut steel
  • Work on continuous tooling design improvement by enhancing tool life and production yield
  • Provide new tooling requirements to mold maker and provide tooling quote to Process Engineering Manager in a timely manner
  • Documented all tooling activation activities, quotes comparison and update tooling drawing
  • Create and manage tooling design standard and provide design guidance to suppliers
  • Problem-solving on tooling-related issues along with manufacturing team members
  • Design or manage design of new or existing tooling to optimize productivity and cost effectiveness
  • Manage communication & documentation of all CAD and inspection data with mold maker
  • Write Purchase requisitions for the selected vendors
  • Manage new tooling delivery, tooling inspection & approval process as per schedule
  • Follow up internal or external tooling rectification
  • Control and manage tooling expenses as per budget plan

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma/ Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Tool and Die or equivalent)
  • More than 3 years’ experience in rubber mold design
  • Good problem-solving ability
  • Able to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to model 3D mold surfaces for tooling
  • Ability to perform tolerance stack up analysis and full understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
  • Knowledge in Solidworks is required
