JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure effective implementation, review, and continuous improvement of first-line internal controls to manage compliance risk within appetite and comply with laws, regulations, and Head Quarter requirements.
Conduct gap analyses and risk assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and ensure timely remediation, tracking, and closure of compliance issues.
Implement quality assurance and continuous monitoring to ensure processes, controls, and KYC/CDD activities are executed in line with internal policies and procedures.Lead and manage the KYC team, provide training and guidance to the first line of defence, and drive a strong governance, compliance, and risk management culture.
Act as the main compliance liaison for the first line of defence, lead compliance-related initiatives, and support engagements with regulators, auditors, regional office, HQ, and management.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: -
Degree in any related field
Minimum of 15–20 years of experience in banking compliance or related regulatory functions, with proven depth of expertise.
Demonstrated ability in strategic, conceptual, and analytical thinking, including interpreting regulatory requirements and assessing compliance and operational risks arising from banking activities.
Professional compliance certification will be added advantage e.g: regulatory compliance certification / AML certification
