  • Our respective client is seeking for a Full Time Brand Manager (Beauty and FMCG Team Leader) to join their Global Retail Business Department. This position will be building Japanese and international brands in Malaysia as a distributor. Other responsibilities include the day-to-day management of brand(s) in Malaysia market for all functions from marketing to sales including the P&L responsibility to meet budgets and retail sales targets.


  • Conceptualize overall sales and marketing strategy in line with brand and company direction.
  • Maintain good relationship with existing channel by proposing new products or marketing activities and develop new sales channel to maximize the sales and achieve the sales and profit target.
  • Create the sales forecast and ensure accurate stock replenishment to ensure optimum inventory at on-line and off-line channels.
  • Plan and execute monthly campaign mechanics for online and off –line channels.
  • Develop and implement integrated marketing plan, marketing campaigns, consumer promotions and activations, trade marketing plans to support overall brand growth and profitability.
  • Manage overall brand portfolio and product mix to maximize profitability.
  • Manage all marketing A&P budget efficiently, and monitor its effectiveness to ensure positive ROI.
  • Monitor, analyze and evaluate market and brand trends, consumer behavior and competitor activity to identify market opportunities.
  • Measure and monitor key performance indicators, ensure right actions are taken for KPI to be on track.
  • Manage 3-5 team members.
  • S&P management: Optimize resources allocation, monthly risk management.
  • Ensure weekly and monthly detailed reporting to management.
  • Direct report to International distribution manager and work closely with HQ Global Merchandising Team in Tokyo, Japan.


  • At least 7-10 years’ experience in the beauty and FMCG industry or have worked as a Distributor, with experience in both sales & marketing.
  • Willing to learn and take on new challenges.
  • Excellent with managing figures in order to manage P&L and inventory (stocks).
  • Acute sense of hunting and developing new sales opportunities.
  • Possesses professional communication skills in English, ability to read/write Chinese an added advantage.
  • An experience with a skincare brand will have an added advantage.
  • Strong relationship with retailers including Watsons, Guardian, Aeon and etc. is considered as asset.
  • Knowledge or experience in E-commerce team will have an added advantage.
  • Creative, driven and open-minded with an entrepreneurial mindset.
  • Able to manage and enjoy work in a start-up environment.
  • Brand and commercial sensitivity.
  • Team player that is a people with strong leadership.
  • Excellent negotiation skills.
  • Focused, efficient, skilled in transversal projects and multitask environment.
  • Able to work in multicultural environment.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
