RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Leading General Accounting team
  • Lead the General Accounting team in their responsibilities on Accounts Payable, Intercompany transactions, Cash and bank related transactions, GST, treasury management, fixed assets accounting and financial reporting
  • Responsible for month end and year end closing of general ledger including preparation of journal entries and monthly financial review package
  • Responsible for the preparation of Corporate income tax and deferred tax computation
  • Responsible for treasury related matters - review monthly cash flow forecast, placement of deposits to maximize interest returns and dealing with bankers for all treasury related matters
  • Manage team for Fixed Assets Accounting. Ensure capital projects are supported by approved AFE and monitor the capital spending to ensure within approved amount. Also ensure all assets movements are properly recorded and accounted for and appropriate internal controls are in place
  • Provide technical advice on changes in Accounting Standards and Tax regulations and their implications to the company with recommendations for compliance
  • Lead and co-ordinate internal and external audits, working with cross functional teams and internal and/or external auditors   
  • Drive implementation and enhancement of internal control and policies to ensure compliance with SOX requirement, Corporate policies and Accounting Standards
  • Close business partnering with cross-functional teams - to provide improved data analysis, with focus on opportunities and recommendations to assist in informed decision-making. Also to support the cross-functional teams in spending  review and highlight any issues for immediate control
  • Support annual budgeting process in overhead spending and headcount reporting
  • Drive continuous improvement projects within Finance team
  • Involve in other ad-hoc projects assigned and perform any other duties as may be required from time to time

Requirements:

  • Degree holder in Finance or Accounting or professional qualification and a member of Accounting Professional div
  • Min 5 years relevant working experience
  • Results oriented, pro-active, able to meet tight timelines, high level of integrity and with excellent interpersonal, communication skills and continuous improvement mindset
  • Candidate must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Candidates with audit experience in Big Four audit firms, and MNCs will be an added advantage
