A client from the retail industry, based in Bangsar is looking for a Finance Manager role. This role will be responsible to oversees and manage all financial aspect of the company.
Job Responsibility:
- Manage day-to-day accounting operations and ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including monthly results and yearly audited accounts.
- Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements.
- Analyze revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure control.
- Establish internal controls and recommend appropriate accounting control procedures and practices to ensure compliance with statutory and professional requirements and local laws.
- Organize and supervise yearly or periodic physical inspections of fixed assets and inventories within the company.
- Supervise, guide, and coach the accounts and finance personnel in their respective job functions and ensure the department's operation is running smoothly.
- Ensure compliance with tax and other regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and systems.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and legislation to ensure the company's continued compliance.
- Monitor and strengthen the credit control of the company account.
- Ensure proper indexing, storage, and retrieval of all accounting documents.
- Ensure proper and regular data backup.
- Orderly planning for and scheduling of document destruction, in accordance with the corporate document retention policy.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external stakeholders such as banks, auditors, and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare financial reports and presentations for management and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Provide financial advice and support to other departments as needed.
- Other ad-hoc assignments as assigned by the management.
Key Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA, ACCA) is preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
- Excellent knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Familiarity with relevant statutory and professional requirements and local laws.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
