JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
In this position, your primary responsibilities will involve providing assistance to the Group Financial Controller and Shared Service Manager in the group's fixed asset department. This will encompass various tasks, such as:
- Overseeing the month-end closing of the general ledger and key reporting obligations for the fixed asset function within the Group. This includes activities like asset capitalization, monthly reconciliations, reporting on property, plant, and equipment (PPE) and investment property, as well as forecasting cash flows and capital expenditures.
- Taking ownership of strategic projects aimed at improving processes within the fixed asset function, with a particular focus on automating reporting and reconciliation procedures.
- Managing the entire process of asset capitalization, which involves collaborating with Tax, Finance, and Business units in acquiring fixed assets, inputting relevant data into the financial system, and determining accounting and tax depreciation rates.
- Maintaining close communication and collaboration with Business units (e.g., Capital Works team) and external stakeholders (e.g., quantity surveyors) to ensure effective management of fixed assets and the accurate and timely reporting of related information.
- Assisting the team in meeting Group reporting requirements, ensuring compliance, and contributing to ad hoc projects, which may include changes to the system or other special tasks as needed.
JOB REQUIREMENT
- Chartered accountant qualification or equivalent
- 1 – 2 years post qualified experience
- Background in large property company, or exposure in fixed assets highly desirable.
