Our client is an established MNC in Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS). 
Location: Muar, Johor
 
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 
 
Report to Site Managing Director and lead a team of Product / Parts / NPI / Test Section Managers, Engineers and Technicians to ensure sustainability of departmental routines. 
  1. Key technical / engineering communication channel to customers
  2. Drive cross-functional department team to meet NPI schedule / NPI Engineering KPI in order to achieve site BSC results (including NPI readiness, pre-MP activities, production process yield and efficiency performance, on time BOM and other Engineering documentation release, NPI / MP launch, EC implementation)
  3. Escalation point for NPI and Product Engineering related matters / issues, both internally and with Customers.
  4. Lead and drive Engineering team to ensure production process is designed with realistic Standard Job Time in line with product requirements as well as Industry 4.0 element such as lean manufacturing, automation, real time monitoring and decentralized decision making on any product / process deviation.
  5. Provide technical leadership and key decision making in Product & NPI Engineering related issues including root cause analysis and corrective and preventive measure implementation on internal product failures and Customer returns, as well as influence in Customer's decision on DFM proposals.
  6. Manage alternative part sourcing including evaluation and justification for approval by customers.
  7. Manage parts tooling development and coordinate pre-production activities with suppliers to ensure smooth materials supply during mass production launch.
  8. Plan budget and resources, provide coaching and mentoring for the Product Engineering team members to enable them to perform required tasks, advance their career and achieve organizational goals

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS
  1. Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering or other Engineering disciplines. 
  2. Minimum 15 years total working experience and at least 2 years in people management role, preferably Electronics Manufacturing related industry. 
  3. Knowledge in FMEA, SPC, and 8D Problem Solving 
  4. Knowledge in engineering CAD and other software development tools
  5. Written and verbal communication skill in Japanese Language
  6. Certification or Knowledge in 6 Sigma (Minitab, GR&R DMAIC, DOE, etc.)
