About the Company:
Our client is a leading transportation manufacturer specializing in innovative vehicle designs, including hybrid and electric models. With a focus on the Southeast Asian market, they excel in the distribution, manufacturing, and assembly of vehicles. They are currently seeking an experienced Production Line Manager to lead on-site production teams and drive the company’s performance and profitability targets set by the Head of Manufacturing Operations.

Location to work: Kapar, Klang 
 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for operational results, including safety, quality, velocity, and cost, from production start to finished goods shipment.
  • Report and deliver key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive continuous improvement in manufacturing operations. Ensure that Production Supervisors develop, maintain, and control KPI data and visual management boards.
  • Establish and maintain robust planning and control techniques for all manufacturing activities in coordination with related departments.
  • Collaborate with the materials department regarding the delivery of materials and purchased items.
  • Identify special arrangements for forward planning and potential challenges in the production process.
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Engineering to optimize operations and support processes, consistently delivering improvements in business and financial metrics.
  • Lead the development and implementation of the company's strategic goals, including the introduction of lean methodologies.
  • Collaborate with the Central Maintenance function to ensure the facility is maintained to support effective operations.
  • Determine appropriate staffing levels and competencies while identifying training needs in alignment with business strategies.
  • Ensure all employees comply with the company’s Quality Assurance, Health, Safety, and Environmental policies.
  • Foster effective communication and trust with all staff, including negotiations with the works committee when necessary.
  • Review and prepare capital expenditure proposals that align with the company's strategic goals.
  • Create working conditions and environments that maximize performance and minimize employee turnover.
  • Conduct annual appraisals for staff and set performance objectives at appropriate levels.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor degree in engineering or any related field
  • At least 4 years of experience as an Operations or Production Supervisor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven track record in driving business improvements.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities in a manufacturing environment.
  • Team-oriented with a proactive, results-driven approach.
  • Familiarity with quality systems and health & safety compliance.
  • Knowledge of lean methodologies and continuous improvement processes. E.g: Continuous improvement processes 5S system (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain), Kaizen 
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including shifts and overtime.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for business.
