Job Responsibilities:
- Take responsibility for maintaining material costs within assigned commodities below current sales quotations per contract.
- Issue RFQs for new parts added to the Bill of Materials within the designated components.
- Populate the Sage System with purchase prices for new parts and ensure that suppliers adhere to the correct revisions of drawings.
- Collaborate with suppliers to track delivery key performance indicators, including shortages, quality, and invoice inquiries.
- Actively contribute to achieving departmental goals related to supplier reduction and cost reductions.
- Initiate supplier agreements and oversee their implementation.
- Play a key role in new product introduction projects.
- Identify and source new suppliers for items within assigned commodities.
- Work with suppliers to determine optimum batch sizes to reduce costs.
- Analyze the cost of manufacturing parts, considering factors such as raw materials, labor, and machining costs, to ensure cost-effectiveness from the subcontracting supply base.
- Compare drawings of new parts with existing parts to justify cost increases or decreases.
- Take action to recover money owed from suppliers for non-performance and warranty claims.
- Ensure compliance with General Data Protection Regulations (GDPR) and maintain the utmost level of confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Ensure that work is completed in line with ISO 9001 standards.
- Interact with all stakeholders in a courteous and respectful manner, adhering to the Dignity at Work Procedure
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in strategic procurement, cost optimization, and supplier management.
- Strong analytical skills to evaluate manufacturing costs and supplier performance.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in using procurement software, such as Sage System.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 standards is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- High level of integrity and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Willingness to occasionally travel for work.
- Basic administrative skills, including document management and record-keeping.
