Our client is a European based company, provider of fully integrated electronic and mechatronic design and manufacturing solutions in Penang. They are looking for candidate with commodity management and supplier relation to execute strategic plan for assigned commodities.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the strategic leader and subject matter expert for assigned commodities.
- Develop and own the end-to-end commodity strategy in alignment with corporate goals.
- Lead cross-functional teams to execute commodity strategies effectively, ensuring agility and responsiveness to market dynamics.
- Continuously monitor global supply markets and proactively identify risks and opportunities.
- Oversee supply allocation decisions based on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO), availability, and quality.
- Act as the primary escalation point for critical part shortages, collaborating with SCM and stakeholders to mitigate revenue risks.
- Drive supply continuity and resilience through proactive planning and scenario analysis.
- Define and manage the strategic supplier pool, ensuring alignment with business needs and risk profiles.
- Lead supplier evaluation, selection, and development initiatives to enhance performance and innovation.
- Champion supplier qualification processes for new sources, ensuring compliance and capability.
- Foster long-term partnerships with key suppliers to drive value creation and competitive advantage.
- Lead Request for Quotation (RFQ) processes with a focus on cost competitiveness and value delivery.
- Negotiate complex commercial terms, balancing cost, quality, and risk.
- Collaborate with finance and legal teams to ensure contract compliance and risk mitigation.
Job Requirements
- At least 10 years of experience in commodity management, sourcing or supplier management in electronics manufacturing
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
- Sound understanding of global supply chain trends and commodity markets
- Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills
