About our Client
A subsidiary of a public listed company who mainly manufacturer of seatbelts, steering wheels and airbags is looking for a Deputy Chief Operation Officer.
 
JOB DESCRIPTION
  • Identify and create business opportunities for the company’s growth and profitability through strategic planning, business planning and human resource planning.
  • Set targets to be deployed for direct reports.
  • Establish the requirements, plan and coordinate the activities for the operations of direct report departments, within the framework of policies, objectives and budgets established, so as to meet the targets and fulfill or exceed customer requirements.
  • Build overall organizational competence and provide leadership to develop motivation, technical competence and manufacturing capability as a competitive edge.
PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES
SOLE RESPONSIBILITY
  • Formulate strategy to provide direction for the achievement of long term and short term growth, profitability, manufacturing and quality goals through Policy Deployment Process. 
  • Coordinate implementation of agreed plans across all functions.
  • Lead direct report departments to achieve company objectives as laid out in the Policy Deployment Process.
  • Guide all functions in development programmer, quality management activities, Human Resource Development programmes and corporate initiatives (e.g. APDS, APS, BPR, etc.) to meet long term Quality Objectives.
  • Identify and champion improvement in competencies of key areas that will provide the organization the edge over competition.
  • Champion process management to synchronize all key processes in line with market requirements and customers’ needs.
  • Reporting to the Boards in their respective Board of Directors and Exco meetings.
  • Continually search and identify best practices to be adopted by the company.
  • Develop and motivate direct subordinates for excellence.
JOINT RESPONSIBILITY
  • To manage the relationship and issue with principal and technology partners and customers.
  • Monthly management reporting and financial review with Autoliv regional management.
  • Attend to matters pertaining to dealings with trade associations, authorities, NGOs, etc. to increase penetration rate of vehicle safety systems and to improve overall industry competitiveness.
  • Jointly develop and motivate with HR and other HOD’s all associates for excellence.
  • Corporate governance.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, computer literacy (at least high-level working knowledge of Microsoft Office programmes).

  • Exposure to various functions (sales & marketing, finance, quality, manufacturing, purchasing, development, HR, etc.).
  • Hands-on experience in manufacturing and product development environments.
