Design, program, and integrate automation systems including robotics, conveyors, and vision systems for injection molding production lines.
Develop and optimize end-of-arm tooling (EOAT) for part handling, assembly, and packaging applications.
Collaborate with molding engineers, process technicians, and maintenance teams to identify automation opportunities and improve production throughput.
Program and troubleshoot PLCs, HMIs, and robotic systems (e.g., FANUC, 6-axis robot arm, etc.).
Ensure automation systems comply with safety standards and perform risk assessments for new equipment.
Support new tooling and mold qualifications with automation integration.
Maintain detailed documentation including electrical schematics, machine programs, and maintenance manuals.
Train production and maintenance personnel on automated equipment operation and troubleshooting.
Manage automation-related projects from concept to implementation, including cost estimation and supplier
coordination.
Job Requirements
Technical Certificate, Diploma of mold, machinery or equivalent preferred
Min 5 years of injection molding related experience or related training
Understands processes and has a basic understanding of various manufacturing techniques
Basic knowledge of engineering theories, design principles and practices, and design evaluation techniques.
Experience with automation or control systems.
