- Participate in the design and engineering of electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with senior engineers and design teams to contribute to system layouts, specifications, and component selection.
- Assist in the development of control strategies, logic diagrams, and control system implementation using PLCs, DCS, and SCADA systems.
- Participate in the installation and calibration of sensors, transmitters, and control devices for accurate parameter measurement.
- Support the design of power distribution systems, motor control centers, and lighting systems.
- Contribute to electrical safety measures, grounding practices, and energy-efficient solutions.
- Lead and supervise commissioning activities for electrical and instrumentation systems, ensuring adherence to project schedules and quality standards.
- Supervise and/or perform the commissioning activities (P&ID checks, bump tests, loop checks, logic checks, inspections, start-up, tuning, performance test, …).
- Collaborate with project managers, engineering teams, and clients to develop detailed commissioning plans, procedures, and strategies.
- Oversee the integration of diverse components into cohesive systems, ensuring seamless communication and functionality.
- Analyze and interpret test results to ensure accurate and reliable system operation.
- Calibrate, configure, and fine-tune a wide range of instrumentation devices, ensuring precise measurement and control accuracy.
- Troubleshoot and resolve calibration deviations and anomalies effectively.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for intricate technical issues, leveraging advanced problem-solving skills and collaborating with cross-functional teams to devise innovative solutions.
- Ensure safety at site, in collaboration with the HSE manager and the site manager.
- Create detailed commissioning reports, meticulously documenting test results, modifications, deviations, and corrective actions.
- Conducting regular commissioning meetings with the team identifying problems/ deviations.
- Reporting of any particular event and/or risk identified which substantially affects HSE, process, quality, personnel, client relations, deadlines, cost and claims. for evaluation and initiation of necessary corrective measures.
- Provide clear and concise summaries of system status, issues, and recommended solutions.
- Interface with contractors, and stakeholders to provide updates on commissioning progress and address technical inquiries.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and continuous improvement within commissioning workflows.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering or a related field.
- 5 – 7 years of hands-on experience in electrical & instrumentation commissioning, preferably with a system integration company or similar.
- Profound knowledge of flow metering, instrumentation, PLC programming, SCADA systems, control valves, pumps, sampling systems, analyzers, flow computers, E&I wirings and control panels.
- Demonstrated expertise in troubleshooting complex technical issues and devising innovative solutions.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration and client engagement.
- Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
- Prior experience in commissioning projects within industries such as energy, oil and gas, chemical, or manufacturing is highly advantageous.
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office application.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Adhere and actively participate in occupational safety, health and environmental policies, procedures and activities such as I-See I-Act, GPI, etc.
