A rapid growing company in Kulim is seeking an experienced and dynamic finance manager to responsible for the overall financial statement for the Kulim site. This role needs to oversee the daily operations of core accounting functions, including tax and other specialized financial processes to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements, maintains audit schedule integrity, and monitors internal controls to safeguard the company’s financial compliance and reporting standards. The ideal candidate is a chartered accountant and should have working experience in multinational and manufacturing environments with advanced knowledge of accounting standards, tax, treasury, SOX compliance, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Job Description:
- Oversee General Ledger (GL) accounting activities, audits, and tax matters, including the preparation of standardized financial statements.
- Ensure compliance with reporting requirements from local authorities, state agencies, and the Central Bank.
- Supervise tax estimation and submission processes to the Inland Revenue Authority, ensuring timely completion of tax schedules and accurate tax computations in line with IRB regulations.
- Lead year-end closing activities and coordinate with external auditors for quarterly and annual financial audits. Liaise with MIDA regarding tax incentive-related matters.
- Manage and maintain comprehensive financial reporting and record-keeping systems.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Safeguard financial integrity by implementing and maintaining internal controls, including SOX compliance, contract adherence, and journal entry approvals.
- Plan, organize, and direct specialized accounting functions and activities.
- Coordinate IT system testing and validate data from system interfaces.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of specialized reports, surveys, CAPEX evaluations, and financial analyses, including investment project assessments, payback periods, and ROI calculations.
- Analyze and interpret operational and financial data to explain variances and trends against historical performance, budgets, and forecasts.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related discipline & recognized professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, ICAEW, CIMA, or MICPA.
- At least 7 years of relevant experience in similar roles.
- Minimum of 3–5 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity.
- Proficiency in ERP systems & experience with SAP is a strong advantage.
- Prior experience working in a multinational environment is essential with a background in manufacturing are highly preferred.
- Solid knowledge of accounting standards and practices including MFRS, MPERS, IFRS, US GAAP, as well as Tax, Treasury operations, and SOX compliance.
- Strong command of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
