A well-established Malaysian company based in Penang, with a strong presence in the wholesale and retail sector is looking for QA Executive to manage Quality assurance activities, ensuring compliance with HACCP, ISO, HALAL, and other regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, review, and maintain HACCP & ISO plans, HALAL documentation, and quality procedures.
- Coordinate internal & external audits, supplier audits, and readiness for third-party or regulatory inspections (e.g., HALAL, MeSTI, FSSC).
- Conduct quality checks, hygiene inspections, and monitor CCPs (Critical Control Points) on the production floor.
- Investigate non-conformities and customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective/preventive actions.
- Ensure traceability, record-keeping, and compliance with documentation requirements.
- Liaise with certification bodies, JAKIM (for HALAL matters), and relevant authorities.
- Provide training and guidance to production and QA staff on food safety and quality practices.
- Prepare quality-related reports, audit summaries, and improvement proposals.
Job Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Food Science, Biotechnology, or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of QA experience in the food manufacturing industry.
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP and HALAL requirements (preferably with exposure to JAKIM audits).
- Familiar with GMP, ISO 22000/FSSC 22000, and other food safety systems.
- Experience handling audits and documentation independently.
- Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficient in MS Office and QA documentation systems.
- Able to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.
