Job Description:
Compliance & Survey
- Perform VDR/SVDR Annual Performance Tests (APT) onboard vessels in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct Statutory Safety Radio Surveys (GMDSS) in compliance with IMO regulations and Classification Society standards.
- Define survey scope and supervise daily statutory survey activities to ensure full compliance.
- Identify, document, and record equipment non-conformities in official survey reports.
- Prepare, verify, and submit survey documentation to relevant Classification Societies and authorities.
- Maintain and regularly update survey checklists issued by Classification Bodies.
- Ensure the validity and accuracy of approval certificates issued by Classification Societies.
- Monitor and stay current with updates to international conventions, IMO regulations, and statutory requirements.
Technical Service & Support
- Carry out installation, servicing, troubleshooting, testing, and commissioning of marine Navigation and Communication equipment.
- Respond to customer enquiries related to statutory surveys, compliance, and technical matters.
- Provide technical assistance and support to Service Engineers during surveys and service activities.
- Perform other ad-hoc duties as assigned by the immediate superior to support operational requirements.
Job Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent qualification.
- At least two (2) years of relevant working experience.
- Valid General Operator’s Certificate (GOC).
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret technical documentation and work-related.
- Sound technical knowledge of GMDSS and VDR/SVDR systems.
- Knowledge of computer systems, electronics, and communication systems is an added advantages.
