A manufacturer of coating materials & related products is expending the business and is looking for Senior Chemist. The role mainly to conduct research analysis and laboratory testings to determine product characteristics for quality control, process control and product development.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conduct hands-on product development of decorative coatings through formulation, raw material selection, quality control, techniques and chemical intuitive skills
- Modifying existing products to offer technical support on cost engineering and problem solving, production process improvement and trouble shooting
- Update technical knowledge through literature reviews and communications across the departments, maintain laboratory equipment and safety protocols
- Maintain complete project test reports, derive analysis and communicate the project status to the Technical Manager through effective presentations
- Maintain test report, technical literature, RM database and project status files
- Generate ideas and leads for a new commercial product, applications, or services that provide additional revenue streams for the Company
- Maintain a clean working lab and organize files, computer generated reports, and project related documentation that are result oriented
- Communicate effectively to the Technical Manager on project progress, results and analysis that will lead to product solutions
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Material Science/ Chemistry/ Applied Science. Preferably those specializing in Chemistry, or Polymer Science
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Product Development and QC in a paint/ coating industry
- Must have hands on experience in formulating skills
- Highly motivated person with strong drive to succeed and able to work independently with minimum supervision
- Excellent Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong analytical and communication skills
