Responsibilities
- Ensure the QA team performs thorough quality assessments on all outgoing products and incoming raw materials.
- Review plans, specifications, and blueprints to confirm product requirements.
- Reject any incoming raw materials that fail to meet quality standards and report issues to the responsible PIC.
- Resolve quality-related issues promptly, adhering to deadlines.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation of inspection processes, including reports and performance records.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance compliance with quality control standards.
- Guide the production team on quality control issues to improve product quality.
- Provide training and development for the QA team.
- Design and implement standardized quality protocols applicable across all domains.
- Monitor customer satisfaction levels and address concerns proactively.
- Oversee quality compliance during all stages of production.
- Ensure adherence to SOPs and relevant standards such as ISO 9001 and ISO 14001.
- Facilitate successful internal and external audits.
- Maintain accurate documentation for recording, reporting, and filing purposes.
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of safety policies and programs.
- Liaise with local authorities and clients to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct health and safety orientations for new employees and develop training materials.
- Plan, implement, and review the HSE system for the manufacturing plant to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
- Identify and rectify hazards, unsafe acts, and unsafe conditions.
- Investigate accidents, near misses, and occupational diseases; report findings to DOSH in compliance with OSH regulations.
- Monitor and communicate amendments or new HSE laws/regulations to management and employees.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory bodies such as DOSH, DOE, and BOMBA.
- Deliver HSE education and training, including Emergency Response Program sessions.
- Maintain PPE inventory, raise purchase requests, and ensure adequate PPE availability.
- Promote safety awareness and employee responsibility for workplace safety.
- Conduct regular safety, health, and environmental training to enhance awareness.
- Investigate incidents and collaborate with management to develop preventive measures.
- Perform daily safety inspections and patrols to identify hazards and unsafe practices.
- Conduct audits at hazardous waste or industrial sites and participate in investigations.
- Ensure successful completion of internal and external audits.
Enforce compliance with all safety, health, and security regulations at all times.
Requirements
Possess at least a Diploma, Professional Certificate, or Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Quality Control (QC) or Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) functions.
Preferably Junior Executive level with exposure to the steel industry.
Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Basic knowledge of safety, health, and environmental standards, along with familiarity with related IT systems is essential.
