IT Support Manager (APAC)
A fast-growing organization in Penang Island is looking for a career minded IT Support Manager (APAC) to be part of their team. You will be a key part of helping the business to identify challenges to growth as it expands market share in Malaysia and Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead regional IT staff and oversee end-user support, IT infrastructure management, and network support.
- Provide test development, automation, and support for subcontract manufacturing sites.
- Management Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily activities of regional IT staff and vendors, ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to SLAs.
- Manage regional IT infrastructure, IT projects, and global IT purchases.
- Act as the primary IT escalation manager for business leaders in the region.
- Enforce IT governance activities, including SOX governance and ISO certifications.
- Ensure compliance with change control processes and other IT procedures.
- Regional IT Support:
- Manage end-user IT support activities and monitor virtual environments for upgrades and proactive maintenance.
- Supervise Enterprise-grade compute, storage, networks, and virtualized environments.
- Monitor all servers, physical and virtual, and enforce software compliance.
- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for servers and systems.
- Support Windows and Linux systems, business applications, and communication systems.
- Competencies:
- Ability to work independently and communicate complex ideas effectively.
- Strong analytical skills, prioritization, and creative problem-solving abilities.
Key Requirements:
- MS in Electronics Engineering or equivalent; 10+ years of IT hands-on experience and 5+ years of IT management experience.
- Experience in Semiconductor R&D support and subcontracting vendor support.
- Expert knowledge of various IT technologies and platforms.
- Willingness to travel internationally up to 25% of the time.
- Additional Desired Capabilities:
- Proficiency in English and Mandarin for regional IT support.
- Focus on developing and maintaining service delivery processes.
- Proven ability to enhance IT service delivery at all layers.
- Knowledge of industry best practices.
- Effective communication and collaboration across organizations and vendors.
