Job Title: Project Manager – Semiconductor/Data Center Construction Location: Open to candidates in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, or Indonesia. Relocation to project sites (with compensation) may be required based on project needs. Budget: SGD 5,000 to 12,000/month depending on age and experience.

 

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Project Manager to lead and manage large-scale construction projects, with a specific focus on Semiconductor and/or Data Center facilities. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards. This role requires excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, along with a strong technical understanding of construction methodologies in these specialized sectors.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Planning & Execution: Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, resources, risk management, and quality assurance. Oversee all phases of project execution from pre-construction to closeout.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage multidisciplinary project teams, including site staff, subcontractors, and vendors, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Budget & Cost Control: Manage project budgets, track expenditures, identify variances, and implement corrective actions to ensure financial objectives are met.
  • Schedule Management: Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, monitor progress, and implement strategies to mitigate delays.
  • Quality & Safety Compliance: Ensure all project activities adhere to company and industry quality standards, as well as all applicable health, safety, and environmental (EHS) regulations.
  • Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders, ensuring clear and effective communication.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential project risks, develop mitigation strategies, and proactively manage issues before they arise.
  • Contract Management: Administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with terms and conditions.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular project status reports to senior management and clients.
  • Problem Solving: Proactively identify and resolve complex issues that may impact project delivery.

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Architecture or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in project management within the construction industry, specifically on Semiconductor and/or Data Center projects.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale, complex construction projects with high M&E contents, from start to finish.
  • Experience working for a General Contractor is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of construction means and methods, building codes and EHS regulations relevant to high-tech facilities.
  • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., ProCore, Aconex, MS Project, Primavera P6), Autodesk Construction Cloud and construction management tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are mandatory.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively under pressure.
  • Willingness and ability to relocate to project locations as required (relocation compensation will be provided).
  • Professional certifications (e.g., PMP, LEED, RCDD) would be an advantage.
  • Experience in tender will be advantageous.
