A leader in cutting-edge equipment control systems and automation innovation, specializing in developing high-performance solutions for complex industrial applications, is seeking a talented senior mechanical design engineer to join their team. In this role, you will play a key part in the design, optimization, and lifecycle support of sophisticated automation systems. You’ll work closely with multidisciplinary teams—spanning electrical, software, and systems engineering—to develop mechanical solutions that push the boundaries of industrial performance.
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with potential customers to gather requirements and understand new product needs.
  • Research current market trends and emerging technologies to propose viable solutions.
  • Identify and develop implementable design concepts that align with both customer requests and potential market demand.
  • Perform parts selection and validate choices through engineering calculations.
  • Develop detailed designs using CAD software based on approved concepts.
  • Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) on critical components to ensure product durability.
  • Liaise with suppliers for sourcing of new components.
  • Define necessary functional tests to verify new product motion and performance.
  • Establish prototype testing criteria and evaluate test results to identify risks and improvement areas.
  • Resolve prototype issues and enhance designs to ensure optimal performance.
  • Prepare comprehensive assembly procedures for the production team.
  • Define and verify critical assembly dimensions.
  • Lead the development of new products from concept through to production.
  • Ensure all product designs meet required specifications and quality standards.
  • Supervise and guide a team of 2–3 engineers.
  • Review engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOM) prepared by team members.
  • Analyze test results and reports, offering improvements to meet design specifications
     

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical product design and development.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; self-motivated with a positive mindset.
  • Capable of sound judgment and decision-making responsibilities.
  • Experience in team supervision is an added advantage.
  • Preferably familiar with AHMS, robotics, or cleanroom environments.
  • Solid understanding of product design, data analysis, and reporting standards.
  • Knowledge of ISO, SEMI, and other relevant quality management systems.
