Job Description
- To identify, measure, monitor and report Shariah non-compliance risks in the operations, business affairs and activities of the bank
- Review and enhance the Shariah risk management policies and procedures to align with the BNM requirements.
- Provide periodic report on Shariah non-compliance risks to Management, Shariah Committee and Board Risk Management Committee.
- Facilitate risk assessment and control effectiveness assessment in relation to Shariah risk and Operational risk during new business, new products or service development and launching.
- Monitor operational risk exposures, including Shariah risk through the Operational Risk Management (ORM) tools, i.e. Loss Event Data reporting, Key Risk Indicator, Controls Self-Assessment and Scenario Analysis.
- Review and enhance Shariah risk scenarios for stress testing exercise. Participate in scenario analysis exercise.
- Review and enhance the ICAAP Material Risk Assessment on Shariah risk.
- Facilitate training and awareness programs on Operational Risk, Shariah Risk and other relevant programs.
- Keep abreast with Shariah regulatory requirements.
- Bachelor's Degree in any field.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of experience in shariah risk management.
- Possess relevant Shariah-related certifications.
- Preferably with Bank Risk Management (BRM) certification.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
- Good business writing, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills.
