A global leader in software-connected automated test and measurement systems is seeking a Staff Hardware Digital Engineer to join its engineering team in Penang.
In this role, you will lead the redesign and validation of hardware systems, focusing on replacing end-of-life (EOL) components while minimizing changes to software and hardware topology.
Key Responsibilities:
Research and propose alternative components with minimal impact on system architecture.
Simulate and implement designs using CAD tools (e.g., Mentor Graphics).
Validate and debug hardware redesigns during verification and manufacturing builds.
Conduct failure analysis and root cause investigations using structured methods (e.g., fishbone diagrams).
Collaborate with manufacturing teams to integrate DFM inputs and improve product yield.
Develop proof-of-concept designs to support redesign proposals.
Document project progress and communicate solutions to stakeholders.
Mentor junior engineers and lead technical documentation efforts.
Create debug tools and training materials for manufacturing teams.
Key Requirements:
Minimum 2 years of experience in analog/digital design, with expertise in board-level design or VHDL/System Verilog.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
Strong background in HDL IP design or digital circuit design.
Experience with high-speed interface routing constraints.
Proficient in CPU/SoC/Microcontroller circuit design.
Skilled in using standard hardware lab equipment (oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, signal generators, power supplies).
Familiarity with test automation using scripting or programming languages.
Demonstrated ability to:
