Company Overview
Our client is an established and fast-growing food manufacturing company preparing to launch a new production facility in Johor. As they expand their operations, they are seeking a highly capable and experienced Operations Manager to lead the setup and daily management of the new factory. This is a key leadership role with the opportunity to shape operational excellence from the ground up.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily factory operations across production, quality control, logistics, and maintenance.
Develop and implement operational strategies, systems, and workflows to maximize efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Ensure full compliance with food safety and regulatory requirements, including HACCP, GMP, ISO, and Halal standards.
Oversee the setup and commissioning of the new factory, working closely with contractors, suppliers, and government authorities.
Manage resource planning—including labour, materials, and equipment—to ensure timely and smooth production output.
Lead, motivate, and develop a diverse operations team to achieve high performance and operational excellence.
Collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Japan teams to align production goals with business objectives.
Manage departmental budgets and implement cost control measures.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
Troubleshoot operational issues promptly and implement effective solutions.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Food Science, or a related field.
Strong understanding of food manufacturing processes, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices.
Proficiency in production management systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office tools.
At least 7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in the food manufacturing sector.
Experience in setting up and commissioning a new manufacturing facility is highly preferred.
Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or similar improvement methodologies is an advantage.
