To support ongoing growth and digital transformation, the organization is seeking a System Administrator / Infrastructure Engineer responsible for managing and enhancing a hybrid IT infrastructure. This role is essential for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of both on-premises and cloud-based systems, contributing to business continuity and global operations. The ideal candidate brings a solid technical foundation, strong problem-solving skills, and a service-oriented approach to infrastructure support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure, including Windows/Linux servers, storage systems, and virtualization platforms (e.g., Proxmox, Hyper-V, oVirt).
- Monitor and support hybrid cloud environments, including OpenShift clusters and infrastructure hosted in Azure and AWS.
- Provide 1st and 2nd line user support, managing service requests and incidents via the IT Helpdesk.
- Manage user access, permissions, and directory services using Active Directory and Azure Active Directory.
- Apply system and security updates, perform routine patching, and implement configuration changes in line with compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR).
- Conduct system performance monitoring, capacity planning, backup operations, and disaster recovery readiness.
- Contribute to automation efforts using scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash) and infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Maintain accurate documentation of systems, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support deployments, infrastructure projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in system administration or infrastructure operations.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server and Linux system administration.
- Experience with Active Directory, Azure, and Microsoft 365.
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms and basic networking (DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls).
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Occasional coordination with global teams in Portugal, Mexico, China, and other regions.
Good to Have Qualifications:
- Experience with OpenShift, Docker/Kubernetes, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Exposure to monitoring tools (e.g., Zabbix, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Familiarity with ITIL, DevOps, or Agile methodologies.
- ITIL Foundation certification.
