Company and Job Overview
A Singapore-based company specializing in manufacturing and repairing engineering and scientific instruments is looking for a Test Engineer to support both new product introduction (NPI) and sustaining product operations. This role involves product testing, process optimization, and troubleshooting to ensure quality and efficiency in test engineering activities.
Key Responsibilities
Support NPI, product transfers, engineering changes, and setup, including evaluations and testing processes.
Develop product test procedures, methods, and tools to enhance test accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure test equipment and testers are properly qualified, calibrated, and maintained in compliance with relevant procedures.
Troubleshoot and resolve test program, equipment, and tester-related issues to minimize downtime.
Monitor product test yields, compile reports, and drive continuous improvement initiatives for test performance and RMA failure analysis.
Maintain accurate documentation, records, and archived measurement data in compliance with product parameter requirements.
Plan test capacity and manage spare parts inventory for optimal operations.
Lead and train test/debug technicians in product troubleshooting and repair processes.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams and customers to address all product-related concerns.
Handle additional projects assigned by management.
Key Requirements
Strong technical expertise in optical products and testing methodologies.
Proactive and hardworking, demonstrating a positive attitude throughout the interview process.
Ability to work independently while fostering a collaborative team environment.
Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese; ability to travel overseas for training.
Experience with optical test instruments such as DCA, BERT, Wavemeter, OPM, and OSA.
Expertise in handling optical fibers, passive components (e.g., optical coupler, circulator, IL, RL) and active components (e.g., EDFA, OSW).
Strong understanding of optical test system operations, including calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
Knowledge of station buyoff and release protocols, such as Gauge R&R, SPC test and control, golden sample regeneration, and tester-to-tester correlation.
