Company and Job Overview
Our client, a reputable manufacturer in the motor vehicle parts industry, is currently seeking a driven and responsible Die Casting Executive/Manager. The company has recently established a new factory in Malaysia, which will focus on the production, research and development, and sales of automotive parts and accessories.
Job Responsibility
Production Management
- Plan and allocate workshop resources—including manpower, equipment, and materials—based on the production schedule to ensure timely and efficient completion of die casting operations and achievement of production targets.
- Enforce die casting process standards and operating procedures; conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with process parameters and continuously optimize workflows to enhance product quality and production stability.
- Promote and implement “5S” practices by standardizing material placement, maintaining equipment cleanliness, and managing tools effectively to ensure a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
Quality Management
- Execute the company’s quality policies and objectives by establishing and maintaining a workshop-level quality control system that meets both customer and internal standards.
- Investigate common die casting defects (e.g., porosity, shrinkage, cold shuts, mold sticking), identify root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions to drive continuous improvement.
Equipment & Safety Management
- Develop and oversee daily maintenance schedules for die casting machines and molds; coordinate repairs and manage emergencies to ensure optimal equipment performance and longevity.
- Enforce safety protocols and responsibilities; conduct safety training and emergency drills and perform regular inspections to prevent accidents and maintain a safe workplace.
Cost Control
- Monitor and manage production costs—including raw materials, energy, labour, and maintenance through regular analysis and implementation of cost-reduction strategies.
- Optimize raw material usage (e.g., aluminium, zinc) and reduce waste through effective mold utilization and maintenance to minimize tooling expenses.
Team Building & Management
- Foster open communication to understand employee needs and concerns, resolve work-related and personal issues, and enhance team morale and engagement.
- Uphold company policies and regulations; reinforce discipline and promote teamwork to ensure smooth and stable workshop operations.
Job Requirements
Diploma or higher in Material Forming and Control Engineering, Mechanical Manufacturing and Automation, Die Casting Technology, or other related disciplines is preferred.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in the die casting industry, with a strong grasp of the full production cycle and workshop management practices.
Solid knowledge of die casting equipment and mold structures, with practical experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair coordination.
Strong analytical skills in cost control and production efficiency optimization.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for data reporting, analysis, and presentation.
